Promoting British Values at Abington Vale
At Abington Vale, we are committed to serving our community and recognise the multicultural, multi-faith and every changing nature of the United Kingdom. We understand that promoting British values means that we actively challenge pupils, staff or parents who may express extremist opinions contrary to fundamental British values, including extremist views.
British values are defined as:
- Democracy
- Rule of Law
- Individual liberty
- Mutual respect
- Tolerance of those with different faiths of beliefs.
These values complement our school values and are actively promoted through PSHE lessons, assemblies, special events and our successful school council.
Each week, in assembly we will share these values and they will be shared on this school page so that you can also discuss them at home if you wish.
